Children in nearly two dozen Boston public schools ate meals in cafeterias cited for conditions so severe - including mouse droppings, peeling paint and a rusty oven - that one inspector said they would shutter a typical restaurant.
Making matters worse: The central food facility that feeds another 21 Hub schools without cafeterias also has been tagged by health inspectors, records show.

Simple solution...the toughest ones for the City of Boston to come too. Post on the INTERNET for all to see, every schools last inspection date and the score achieved. Assign this simple task to a specific school administrator in each school. Let the parents take it from there!
Like many, I'm not surprised with the half arse living/eating conditions in Boston. The employees in these cafeterias are either products of the Boston public schools thenselves or recent immigrants from some third world hell hole so to them it's all good in the hood. No matter if it's a department store or restaurant that goes into the hood it gets trashed by those who it is intended to benefit. It must be the landlords fault right?
I the teachers can't teach, why would it surprise anyone that the hire cooks who cannot cook or would even want to try? The truth is, they hire only union workers and when have union workers done anything beyond the bare minimum--and people have the gall to wonder why the big dig is falling apart. Union work is half assed work wherever you look.
