‘MLB 2K10’ adds fun to lineup with My Player

Spring training means it’s time for another round of baseball video games. Like the Red Sox [team stats], “Major League Baseball 2K10” hasn’t changed too much from 2009. Pitching and hitting are almost identical to last year, relying on quick but precise flicks of the right joystick for most actions. You’ll jab the joystick up to hit and twist it in a variety of motions to deliver different pitches. It feels as good as ever, but also still makes the game a little too easy when you’re using players with top-level stats. It’s not hard hitting homers with Albert Pujols or striking guys out with Tim Lincecum.
The most notable tweak to the core controls is a defensive swing that makes it easy to foul off pitches. You can consistently work the count and wear down opposing pitchers. Anything that makes epic plate battles more common is a good idea.
